Junior Hi Two is Finished
Hi Everyone,
Our Junior Hi 2 camp is finished and we are into the first day of our last week of camp, Junior Three, today! We had a wonderful week with these Jr Hi campers, where we saw and felt the Holy Spirit move in their hearts and our hearts as well. The cabin leaders had a blast hanging out with these campers, enjoying the activities and spending time with them in their day. God was working through our speaker, Luke Bergmann, as he shared the Gospel and how important it is to be walking with Jesus. During the week, many campers made a re-commitment to following Jesus! Please be praying for these young teens as they head home, pray that they would find connections to local churches and youth groups to help them in their walk with Jesus.
This Week: Junior Three
Yesterday, we started Junior Three, which is our last week of camp for the summer! The summer has flown by, but we are really excited to welcome 121 junior campers aged 8-11 this week! The schedule is the same as last week. We are so excited for this week with these campers and we ask for your prayers as the cabin leaders interact with them, showing God's love to them and answering any questions they may have about faith and Jesus.
Our speaker this week is Noah Weiler from Humboldt, SK. Noah is the Associate Pastor at the Humboldt Bible Church and this is his first time speaking at Stoney. We are excited to welcome Noah and to hear what God has to speak through him to the campers. Please pray for Noah as he speaks to the campers about God's love for them and his gift of Salvation and pray that God would speak to their hearts through him.
Our volunteers this week are: Christine Ruten, Brianna Jenkins, and Tyler & Joelle Hydaman are in the kitchen; Ruth Cressman - camp grandma; Deana Seipp & Courtney Regier - our two nurses; Logan Seipp & Quinn Sawatsky as general volunteers helping with the program; and we welcome Reese Gaillard back to camp filling in as a cabin leader this week.
Our LIT's this week are: Blayr Bernard, Joshua Schmidt, Hayden Gendall, Jack Graham, Zara Young, Alyssa Yaskow, and Rachel Germain.
Corn Maze Days
CORN MAZE DAYS
We are planning to hold our Corn Maze Family Days this fall! These are the dates for this year:
- Sunday, August 28
- Saturday, September 10
- Sunday, September 18 (Depending on Weather)
We will have all the fun activities like: Climbing Wall, Face Painting, Bouncy Castles; Stoney Train Rides, Hay Bales to climb, hot dog roast, pontoon rides, tuck shop, and the corn maze!
Prices for the day are: Adults & Youth (12 and up) - $12; Children (6-11) - $8; 5 & under - Free
Prayer Requests
Camp is a very busy place, and all our staff are working together as a community to serve God in sharing the Gospel to our campers. We can't do this on our own, we need God's help and guidance to achieve this great task He entrusted us with. Would you help us in praying for our staff, campers, and volunteers? Here are some prayer requests and praise items you can pray for:
- We are thankful for the many registrations that are coming in, we are over 800 campers so far for the summer!
- This is our last week of camp this summer! Pray for our staff, that they finish well at camp and as they head back into school whether it be university or bible school.
- Pray for our cabin leaders and LIT's. Pray for their health and safety throughout the summer. Pray that God would give them the wisdom and patience for their campers many questions, knowledge to answer those questions, and the love to show to these campers.
- Pray for our summer leadership team. Pray for Claire, our program director. Pray for her health and safety. Pray that she will get the rest she needs when she needs it, and that she will grow in her faith this summer.
- Pray for our campers. Pray that there would be no accidents, or sickness happen. Pray that they would come to know their Savior here at Stoney.
- Pray for Jay & Jen as they lead the team this summer.
- Pray for Tracy & Paddy Reed, as this is their first summer with us at Stoney. Tracy is our Facility Manager and Paddy is the Kitchen Coordinator.
- Pray for Jesse Alsbach as our Associate Director, Millie Hart as our LIT Director, and Jason & Pam Kellington as our Senior Staff Supervisors.
- Pray for continued financial and prayer support for the camp. Praise God for the many people who do support Stoney in this way.
