Junior One Finished
Hi Everyone,
We are just finishing up our Junior One week in a couple hours here. The kids are at the beach enjoying a beach day and then we will close out the week with our final chapel time. It was an incredible week with these campers, they had a blast as well as our cabin leaders! We did have some campers who were homesick during the week and one went home, but most stuck it out! Luke took the kids through Psalm 139 and great discussions were had in cabin devotions each night. Many cabin leaders commented that there were insightful questions asked during cabin devotions which had them praying for their campers. Please continue to lift up our campers in prayer, that the Holy Spirit would dwell in this place and each camper would have the opportunity to respond to God's gift of grace.
The picture above is our new boat!! We were able to purchase a new ski boat for camp this year, as we have been setting aside funds for this for several years. The boat was put into great use this week, as we had all three skill sessions running with these smiling faces each day! A big thank you to all who support the camp!
This Week: Junior Hi One
Next week we start Junior Hi One, and it is completely full! We have 140 campers who are 12-14 years old set to come on Sunday! The schedule for this camp is just like our Junior camps, just with young teenagers! We are so excited to have these campers join us for a week!
Our speaker for Jr Hi 1 is Nate Coulson from Melfort, SK. This is his first time speaking at Stoney, and he is the Youth Pastor at Melfort Evangelical Covenant Church. We are excited to hear what God has to say through Nate this week! Pray that the campers would hear God's message for them through him.
Our volunteers this week are: Lindsay Zacharias, Shawna Reid, Billie-Jean Thompson & Emma Snyder in the kitchen, Myra Schmidt - video and photos, Rae-Lynn Snyder is our nurse & her daughter Grace will help her
Our LIT's this week: Elias Kellington, Ewan Gendall, Reagan Boyd, Caleb Maxwell, Isabelle Roberts, Abby Stead, Anna Stead, Naomi Branscombe, Bridgette Boyd, Alyssa Yaskow, Cadence Martens & Kamryn Wiens
Prayer Requests
Camp is a very busy place, and all our staff are working together as a community to serve God in sharing the Gospel to our campers. We can't do this on our own, we need God's help and guidance to achieve this great task He entrusted us with. Would you help us in praying for our staff, campers, and volunteers? Here are some prayer requests and praise items you can pray for:
- We are thankful for the many registrations that are coming in, we are over 850 campers so far for the summer! Our Teen camp & Squirt camp has room for campers, so pray for those weeks of camp to fill up!
- Pray for our cabin leaders and LIT's. Pray for their health and safety throughout the summer. Pray that God would give them the wisdom and patience for their campers many questions, knowledge to answer those questions, and the love to show to these campers.
- Pray for our summer leadership team. Pray for Emma, our program director. Pray for her health and safety. Pray that she will get the rest she needs when she needs it, and that she will grow in her faith this summer.
- Pray for our campers. Pray that there would be no accidents, or sickness happen. Pray that they would come to know their Savior here at Stoney.
- Pray for Jay & Jen as they lead the team this summer.
- Pray for Tracy & Paddy Reed. Tracy is our Facility Manager and Paddy is the Kitchen Coordinator.
- Pray for Jesse & Stephanie Alsbach. Jesse is our Associate Director and Stephanie is the Administrative Assistant.
- Pray for Damian & Emily Obando Martinez as our LIT Directors, and Jason & Pam Kellington as our Senior Staff Supervisors.
- Pray for continued financial and prayer support for the camp. Praise God for the many people who do support Stoney in this way.
