Junior Hi 1 Finished
Hey Everyone,
We have come to the end of Junior Hi One and it was a great week despite the heat and some hiccups! These campers had a lot of energy and had fun this week with all the wide games, night games and skills during the day. We again had some pretty hot days, but our campers found time to spend in the water to cool off. Earlier in the week we did have to send a few campers home due to sickness. We prayed hard over the camp and sanitized every cabin and washroom thoroughly. Since that day, God answered our prayers of protection because we had no more sick campers leave! We are so thankful for our work crew this week as they helped a lot with the extra cleaning and care to keep our staff and campers healthy; also our nurse Lindsay, for working hard as well!
The Holy Spirit was working this week as we had Damian Obando Martinez come in at the last minute to speak God's truth to the campers. We had some red flags come up with our original speaker as he spoke some confusing things in the chapel times Sunday night. As a leadership team, we felt something was off right from when he came to camp and the confirmation came after he was asked to leave. We talked it over with our cabin leaders and there was a huge collective sigh of relief. The Holy Spirit was speaking to us all as we felt something was not right with what the speaker was talking about. Jay and Jesse asked him to leave and we called on Damian to come speak the rest of the week. Jay stepped in for a couple sessions, and Damian spoke the rest. Thank you to all of you, our prayer supporters, as you lift the camp up in prayer for us. We felt your prayers as we went through this challenging experience.
Damian shared with our campers what it means to Praise God through the things we do. He talked about what it means to give God praise, why He is worthy of all our praise, and how He made a way for us to come to him through his son Jesus. The cabin devo times had many questions asked and great discussions about God's creation and love for us. Pray for our campers, that God's truth would resonate in their hearts and that they would continue to remember the words spoken this week in their hearts when they go home.
Next Week: Junior Two
Sunday we are back to another week with junior campers as we kick off with Junior 2! We have 117 campers registered between the ages of 8-11. The schedule is the same and it is packed with lots of fun games and skills for the campers to participate in.
Our speaker for Junior Hi 1 is Glenda Atamanchuk. Glenda, affectionately known as "Mamma G" here at camp, has been speaking at Stoney for many years. We are so excited to have her come share God's word with the campers this week. Glenda, and her husband Dave live just outside of Humboldt, SK. Dave will be coming to be our camp grandpa this week and drive the fishing boat for the skills. Pray for Glenda as she shares each day in our chapel sessions; pray that the Holy Spirit would work in the hearts of each person this week and that the Word of God would be spoken clearly.
Our volunteers are: William Whatley, Tasha Morin & Patty Kidd - cooks; Pamela West-Sharp - nurse; Dave Atamanchuk - camp grandpa; Charity Ruten & Matt Hoess - extra volunteer
Our LIT's this week: Makayla Cochrane, Robyn Spratt, Naomi Branscombe, Cadence Martens, Sam Maxwell, Ewan Gendall, Eli Friedt, Moise Lalonde, Jonathan Schultz
Prayer Requests
Camp is a very busy place, and all our staff are working together as a community to serve God in sharing the Gospel to our campers. We can't do this on our own, we need God's help and guidance to achieve this great task He entrusted us with. Would you help us in praying for our staff, campers, and volunteers? Here are some prayer requests and praise items you can pray for:

Pray that she will get the rest she needs when she needs it, and that she will grow in her faith this summer. Pray for Jason & Pam Kellington our Senior Staff Supervisors. Pray for them as they lead the staff in discipleship over the summer.
- Pray for our campers. Pray that there would be no accidents, or sickness happen. Pray that they would come to know their Savior here at Stoney.
